We have reopened Children’s Ministry on Sunday mornings. We are working towards creating a safe environment for kids and volunteers. We have reviewed the guidelines suggested to us by Lancaster County and the State of Nebraska. The guidelines that we are implementing are listed below.

  • We take temperatures of all children, parents and staff. Outside the main kid’s entrance there will be two lines with a volunteer in each line using a no touch thermometer. Once inside the check-in area there will be touch less check-in done by volunteers.
    • All children, parents and staff who have the following symptoms should not enter into Children’s Ministry. Symptoms consistent with COVID including, but not limited to, fever of 100.4 or greater, cough, shortness of breath, chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, new loss of smell, nausea, diarrhea or vomiting.
  • All kids age 5 and older are required to wear masks according to the Lancaster mandate. Kids younger than age 5 are also encouraged to wear masks if comfortable wearing them. Parents and volunteers will be required to wear masks
  • To reduce the opportunities of catching the virus, kids are only allowed to attend one service downstairs. Our nursery and preschool classes use different rooms each service. Our elementary worship room has seating to keep social distancing and is cleaned in between services. These steps also help reduce the number of volunteers/children that must self quarantine if there was a positive case.

Kid City is our Children’s ministry at Calvary.  Kid City is a place where kids can be kids. We believe that kids should have fun at church while learning about God.

Kid City is online. Check out our main Calvary Facebook Page and our Kid City YouTube Page to view content. We have a weekly Kid City Service that posts at 7am on Sunday mornings.

Kid City provides ministry for children from birth through fifth grade. Our goal is to help the children discover Jesus in a personal way so they will grow up with His teachings. It is our desire that the training they receive here will be taken with them throughout their lives.

Children participate in a loving, nurturing, and age appropriate environment while attending. Our teaching endeavors to supplement the Christian nurture and training the child receives in the home environment.

Children learn biblical truth and biblical principles through such creative methods as drama, music, video & audio instruction, puppets, crafts, teaching and discussions. Children also learn by observation and modeling; therefore, each classroom is staffed by qualified volunteers who are committed to the spiritual development of the child.

First Time Visiting

Here are some tips for visiting Kid City for the first time. Our family entrance (Door 12) is under the canopy on the east side. Once you enter go to our guest check-in. Our volunteers will help you get checked in, answer any of your questions and take you to your child’s class. For a quicker check-in process you can pre-register by Clicking Here.

Safety and Security

We have a computer check-in ministry, which enables Calvary to provide a secure children’s area. With this ministry, parents and volunteers are the only people with access into the children’s area. We also have security team at the entrances of our children’s ministry and around the building. We also do background checks and training for all our Children’s Ministry volunteers.

Because we believe that all children are created by God and in the image of God, we at Calvary are committed to providing a safe environment where our smallest children are nurtured and loved. Located on the lower level of our building, our baby and toddler rooms are secure and equipped to serve children and parents well. We have nursery available for both the 9:00 and 10:30 service. Staff is screened, trained and monitored to ensure quality care.  Karen Case is the director of nursery.

We love seeing new babies in the nursery. If you would like some more information about placing your child in nursery or are interested in serving, please contact Karen at

Your child is precious and loved by God. That’s why we want him or her to experience God’s love at Calvary and love coming on Sundays! Our teachers encourage a Biblical foundation by teaching the kids Bible stories. They also recognize the importance of making learning about God interesting so we also have hands-on activities like crafts, snacks, and games.

On Sunday mornings we have large group gatherings for our elementary aged kids during both services. Kid City is a place where kids can be kids. Kids enjoy high energy worship, fun games, funny dramas, and interactive Bible teaching.  We would love to have your K-5th grader join us during the 9:00 am or 10:30 am services in Kid City.
