A native of Lincoln, Carl Godwin is the pastor and founder of Calvary Community Church of Lincoln. Having accepted Christ as his personal Savior as a child, Carl felt God’s calling to the pastorate at the age of 16.

Following graduation from Lincoln High School, he received his B.A. and M.A. degree from Bible college. In 1995, he was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Liberty University. Carl and the former Gayle Wooldridge met during college and have been married over 35 years. Following graduation, they set out on a journey to observe some of America’s fastest-growing churches.

During this time, they both began to sense God’s leading to begin a church in Lincoln. And so began this ministry over 35 years ago. Carl & Gayle have three children and five grandchildren.

Cleve and his wife Kim came to Calvary in January 2005. Cleve served at Northside Baptist Church for sixteen years in many capacities. Here at Calvary, Cleve is responsible for overseeing the adult ministries. When he isn't hashing out details for some ministry endeavor, you can find him jogging or shuttling one of his four children to either a baseball, volleyball, or football practice.

Pastor Steve was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida in May, 1993.  From there, he went on to earn his Master of Divinity degree from Luther Rice Seminary in Atlanta. Prior to his coming to Calvary, he served as an assistant pastor at Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina from 1996-2000. He and his wife Terry have two sons, Nathan who is 14 and Daniel who is 8. Here at Calvary, Pastor Steve oversees Velocity Youth Ministry, geared for teens grades sixth through twelve.

Mitch Larson is our worship pastor. Mitch was born and raised in western Nebraska. A man of many talents, in addition to leading the congregation in powerful and inspiring weekly worship, Mitch and his wife coordinate dramatic presentations as well. He and his wife Leisa 4 kids.

Shane Sundermann has served as children’s pastor since 2000. Shane received his Bachelor's Degree from Calvary Bible College in Kansas City.  During his time here, Sunday mornings have become THE place to be for kids on Northwest Lincoln. Shane has assembled a staff of volunteers that excite as well encourage our children in their walk with Christ. Away from church, shane keeps busy with his wife Debi and four children.

Pastor Scott was first introduced to Calvary Community Church in 1999 when he was invited to join the faculty of Parkview Christian School as their English teacher. His spiritual growth while at Calvary led him to follow the call of Christ into Christian ministry.

While pursuing his graduate degree, he joined the staff at Epworth Village in York and is currently serving as their Director of Education. Pastor Scott graduated from Grace University in May 2008 and welcomed the opportunity to join Calvary's staff part-time as their Grandpeoples' pastor. He and his wife Karen have four children.
